For the study in question, the treatment is the words in red that are not showcased to half of the respondents; the control is the half of the respondents that did not see the red wording. For the respondents that have seen the red wording, they would be very unlikey to support the bond because it would look bad on them publicly; for those who have not seen the red wording, they would be likey to support the bond in secret.

I think this fact is surprising because often times one cannot simply predict one’s party through one singular action. Yes, certain parties have views and actions that reinforce those views but not all party participants have those views or perform those actions.

I think a limitation of this study is the fact that we don’t know the party of those who saw and did not see the red wording. I think that if this was communicated we would have more information regarding if those who supported the bond had a relationship with the party they were affliated with or if it just regarded them individually.

I completely agree because the connotations that are connected with the NAACP are much more positive and less controversial from connotations connected with the Black Lives Matter Movement. Therefore, white politians would feel they have a safer option with the NAACP.
