HAP Statistics

There were over 57,000 HAP properties by 2021.

HAP - Total

The Electoral Districts (ED) with the highest numbers are outside of the M50 along commuter routes. It should be noted that the EDs in the Dublin City centre are smaller in area compared to the other regions. Also, “commuter” towns tend to be the largest towns in the region, so it is not necessarily only a function of being a town commonly associated with commuters.

HAP by Eircode Output

As a share of Eircode Output Area, of which there are 139, some of the towns stand out. Navan for instance has a large share relative to other towns within the Eircode Area. These areas often cross county boundaries and can be made out with the thin grey lines.

Vacant Dwellings by Electoral Division

As discussed last week Local Electoral Areas in Dublin City had a higher vacancy rate than the suburbs. Below is a view of the Electoral Divisions.

Interest Rate Statistics

ECB MIR : MFI Interest Rate Statistics, Bank Interest Rates for New Business.

Industrial Production

Mixed picture in Europe of the data released so far, there appears to be an upward revision to Irish industrial production in November. Year on year decrease in December, that can be seen in the industrial production index above, being driven by the notoriously noisey Modern Sectors.

Services Index

Most sectors recovered pandemic losses, if there were any. With most stabilising last year.

Oil

One to watch for next week, Russia confirm oil cut and OPEC are expected not to boost supply.
