Customizing RStudio

Try some of the customization options

General

1) Change the default working directory

2) Enable “Remove duplicate entries in history” and test it out

Code Editing

1) Test the different options and configure them to your liking

2) Enable syntax highlighting in the console

Appearance

1) Set a new theme

Pane Layout

1) Configure the pane layout to show the console on the right and source on the left.

2) In the main editor, adjust the windows to show only the console and source

Finish Up

For consistency when following along, let's put the panes back in their default location.

• source (upper left)
• workspace, history, vcs (upper right)
• console (lower left)
• files, plots, packages, help (lower right)

You can keep the new theme if you want, or also change it back to TextMate. We'll explore the other (Sweave, Spelling, Version Control) tabs later.
