This is an analysis of Liberia by its counties, districts, and clans in accordance with its total population, density, female population, and persons per household. There is also a focus on the Greater Monrovia district.

County Analysis

What we can see from these maps is that Liberia has a generally low population, with the highest concentration of citizens residing in Monteserrado, which houses the capital of Liberia. The male to female ratio within the counties seems fairly even, and the average household size is about 6 people.

District Analysis

The district maps break it down further, showing us that the population is greater among the northwestern districts, with the most dense districts concentrated in the middle strip of the country. The ratio of female to male remains fairly even among the districts, and the amount of people per household seems to increase the further south one goes.

Clan Analysis

First, I will give a plain image of Liberia and all of its clans labeled. In order to see the variables more claerly, I have removed the clan labels from the other images, and you may use this one for reference.

When broken down to clan level, the variables seem much more consistent. The population and density of the clans all seem to have about the same averages, with certain outliers here and there. What is interesting to note is the female to male ratio: there seems to be a greater difference among clans of the average percent female than that among the districts or counties. The households within the clans contain an average similar to that of the districts and counties, however some clans in the southeast have upwards of 10 people per household.

Monrovia Analysis

In Morovia, the capital of Liberia, the population and density grow the closer to the ocean one gets. This is fairly typical of coastal cities. The female to male ratio seems fairly even, with the exception of Freeport Development, which has a low female population. The average persons per household is very low in Monrovia, which is also consistent with city-style living.

Conclusion

The increase in persons per household among the southern counties and districts when compared to the northern ones could possibly indicate that the northern region is more industrialized.
