7 A- In 2010, China was the country with the most internet users. B- In 2010, the United Kingdom had approximately 50 million internet users. C- There were approximately 350 million more internet users in China than Germany in 2010. D- This graph could be potentially misleading because the data sets were not compared using relative frequencies. The vastly different population sizes makes comparing the data misleading.

9 A- Just under 70% of respondents believe divorce is morally acceptable. B- If there were 240 million adult Americans in 2010, just over 48 million (20%) would believe that divorce is morally wrong. If Gallup claimed that the results of the survey indicate that 8% of adult Americans believe that divorce is acceptable in certain situations, I would say that this statement is inferrential because it makes a prediction about the population based soley off of observations of the sample.

11 A- 45% of 18- to 34-year olds respondents were more likely to buy when made in America. 61% of 35-44-year olds were more likely to buy when made in America. B- The 55+ age range has the greatest proportion who are more likey to buy when made in America. C- The 18- to 34- year old group and a majority of respondents that were less likely to buy when made in America. D- The apparent association between age and likelihood to buy in America is that as age increases, so does the liklihood of purchasing American-made goods.

13 A- Never = .026, Rarely= .067, Sometimes= .115, Most of the time= .263, Always= .527. B- 52.7% of respondents answered “Always”. G- It is a descriptive statement that 52.7% of college students always wear seatbelts.

B- Scores on the SAT would be a bell curve, with the majority of students performing at an average level and several outliers performing incredibly poorly or incredibly well. C- Number of people living in a household is uniform. D- The ages of patients diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease would be skewed left, because there would be higher instances in older age groups.

14 A- Number of alcoholic drinks consumed per week is right skewed because it increases as age increases. B- Age of students in a public school district is bell-shaped, because they range in age of around 5 years to 25 years. C- Ages of hearing age patients is left skewed, because the majority of patients will be older. D- Heights of full-grown men is uniform, because they stop growing at a particular height.
